Well, I am officially here! It was a long couple flights, and I am exhausted, but I am here and ready to start! Met some interesting people on the flights over. Our second flight had two other missions teams: a group of 50 highschoolers coming to build a hospital, and a group of doctors coming to train doctors here in Kenya. It was very interesting to hear everyone’s plan for the next couple weeks. There is going to be some great things happening over here in the next few weeks!

Packed and ready to go!
Well it's 5am and I am officially ready to go. Widget is all packed and ready for his little vacation too...
(he knows that that is his food, travel bag, and blanket).
Please be in prayer for safe flights and that I am able to get over this sinus infection. Not quite the way I wanted to start out the trip, but satan always finds a way to get me down before a trip. Nevertheless, I know it will be ok and I am looking forward to seeing all the children and can't wait to share all the news and photos from overseas!

Almost there!
We have officially raised 70% of the funds for this trip! Thanks everyone for your support! Please continue to pray for me, there is much to do to prepare to leave the country for so long, and there is still quite a bit of money to raise. But, I know God will be faithful and provide everything needed. I also ask for prayers for continued strength as Satan always seems to send his strongest attacks right before my trips. Thank you again for your support. This really would not be possible without all of you. Prayer is best support you can give me and I am so thankful for everyone that has lifted this trip up to Him. The children in Kenya like to "give a wow" to anyone who does a good job. To all of you, from the children and me....
1...2...3...WOW!

Need Your Support
To my friends and family -
I am writing you to let know of an exciting event happening in my life and to ask you to join me. Over the past few years, I have been privileged to go on numerous missions trips and meet many wonderful people. I have loved every place I have visited, but I have especially fallen in love with the people and children of Nairobi, Kenya. Twice I have been fortunate to visit this wonderful community and now with your support I am planning on visiting again. On my last trip I felt a calling to give more of my time to helping these people and to explore longer-termed missions. The exciting news is that this February I will be able to spend a full three weeks there; much longer than any trip I have ever previously done.
The children in Kenya love to sing and dance and it has been a blessing to be able to teach them new songs and dances to praise the Lord. Worshipping with them has always been the highlight of my trips. Usually I am rushed from school to school teaching about three dances in only an hour to each school. Everyone wishes that we had more time together, but in fairness to all the children, the administrators try to bring me to as many schools as time allows. Having three full weeks I will be able to spend more time with each school and even teach at some schools that I have not yet visited. It is such a joy to use my gifts for dance and teaching to teach these children in such an exciting way about God’s love.
A trip of this magnitude cannot be done alone, so I am asking for your support. First and foremost, I would like to ask for your prayers for both myself and the people I will be serving. If you would like to do more, financial support is also greatly appreciated. The estimated amount needed for this trip, for supplies, and to financially support me for these three weeks is $5000. I am seeking your support to help me raise this amount. If you are not able to support me financially, I continue to ask for your prayers on this trip. Above all, prayer is my biggest need.
If you desire to sponsor me financially, your gift is tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to “Sauk Village Christian Church”. Any checks can be mailed to me at the address below:

Thank you for your interest in my life and for letting me share with you where the Lord is taking me in the next year. I ask again for daily prayers during my preparation and throughout the trip. I know not everyone is able to make trips like this, so I am asking you to join with me. This is not my trip, it is OUR trip, intended for God’s glory. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us!
Thank you,
Ashley
